You check the weather to make sure you have good visibility, and you want to make sure there is little or no turbulence for your passengers. You and your passengers are looking forward to an exciting flight to view the sights. It’s going to be a beautiful day to take in the scenery along the shoreline of Lake Ontario in Toronto. Of note, the glass floor part was closed - the experience may be worth it once that opens up again.By Paul Spiers, Civil Aviation Safety Inspector, Flight Operations, Transport Canada I'm glad we went for the lunch and didn't pay the price and wait in those queues just fr the experience we had. Twin Towers in KL, that was a much better, much more interactive experience. Having been to similar observation decks, e.g. The observation deck was a bit rubbish though - great views (though nothing compared to the restaurant), but soooo crowded and noisy, and other than one or two very brief information boards there was nothing really telling us about the tower or even what we were looking at. We got to skip all the ticket and lift queues going up, which was great, and could have done so again going down by heading back to the restaurant, but the queue down was short so we didn't bother. The rice included a visit to the observation deck after our meal. Clearly expensive ($75 for 2 course foxed price adult, $40 for 3 course child's menu), but the food was amazing, the service superb and nothing could beat the views as we slowly rotated around 360° in about an hour (and another 180° in the other half hour we took to eat!). I'd booked us lunch at the CN Tower for our last day on holiday, and it was as amazing as I'd hoped.

Seems like they milk this attraction for a money spinner and do not consider customer satisfaction, likely customers all visitors who won't be back anytime soon. After two failed attempts we had to ask for help to get our way out of here.Īt approx £115 for a visit of mainly queueing I would not recommend this attraction, plenty other things to do in Toronto. Instead of ground floor lift took us to the basement gift shop. This in an area like a construction site. The glass floor was a huge disappointment, very small area, lots of people crowding on and an obvious glass floor beneath taking away the thrill of viewing down to the street below.Īfter a walk around we discovered yet another queue for the lift to go back down.

The windows were dirty with sticky finger marks, crowded with lots of people pushing in to see. Then on viewing floor it appeared that half the space in front of the windows was taken up with tables of people ordering food. The lift should have been exciting but we were crammed in so tightly we couldn't see much from the window at the front of the lift. Then queued for even longer for a lift to take us to the viewing platform. Queued again inside to have tickets scanned. So we queued outside for over 30 minutes. In and out in an hour overall but I know we got lucky there.ĭespite buying timed tickets online we had a huge lot of queueing to do.

We looked out all the views then got in line for the elevator to leave. Once you get up there you can stay as long as you want. They pack you in the elevator like sardines. It's a nice experience but expensive and crowded. They don't have the glass floor to look down through anymore. We did get our picture taken but we didn't look at it when we left later because we aren't fans of green screen pics (they take your pic in front of a green screen then add the background digitally), and we figured it would be expensive anyway. I'm sure you could refuse and keep walking if you wanted to. We don't care for the fact that while you are walking through the building, they stop you and make you wait for pictures. When it's busier they give you a time you can go up and you might not get in for hours. When we left within the hour, though, the line was ridiculously long. It wasn't very busy, just a handful of people in line. We got there around 11:30 and he said the next group going up would be at noon so that worked well for us. We went to the Guest Services booth outside the main doors and he said they did give a discount for a AAA card so we got 10% off for that.
